Introducing Orphans e-commerce
Our experience of building online shops has taught us that even the most popular third party solutions tend to be unduly complex for administrators to use on a daily basis and often compromise our design inclinations and technical requirements. To best serve our customers we chose to develop a new e-commerce ‘engine' within our own established CMS (Content Management System).
Key to our e-commerce solutions is design flexibility so you have a page layout to perfectly suit your products and, critically, an intuitive administration area where you feel comfortable maintaining your product catalogue.
Orphans e-commerce gives you full control over your online shop:
- Easy to change product details with full text editor so you can include pictures, links etc.
- Product options (size, colour etc.)
- Flexible catalogue hierarchy
- Special offers applied to specific products or the shopper's entire cart
- Promotional discount codes for use during checkout
- Customer grouping tool to give valued customers higher discounts
Integration with your preferred payment methods
When customers choose to pay online we need to integrate our e commerce platform with a third party payment system of your choice. There are a number of possible routes for you to consider including;
- Full payment services (e.g. PayPal, WorldPay, Google Checkout)
- Payment gateways if you already have a Internet Merchant Account (e.g. Protx)
- Services provided by your own bank
Each of these services has differing costs and charges of their own so you will need to evaluate which is best for the level of trade you envisage (we can help with this if you prefer).
Security
Your shop is administered online through our own CMS which is protected by user accounts. Customer and order information is stored securely in a database on the server well away from prying eyes.
Sensitive payment details are handled by third parties so they deal with the strict security measures necessary for that; however we do ensure we meet any extra requirements they may have for the shop itself. This means that your website itself will not need an SSL certificate (‘padlock') of its own but if you feel you would still like this to encourage customer confidence we can incorporate one for an annual fee. Our certificates are supplied by RapidSSL.
Custom Reporting
Ever wondered how well your shop is doing, which product is selling the best, or how much you have sold over a given time period? now you can with our CMS reports section you have the ability to view these details presented in graphical and tabular format, with popular product break downs, total sales and country breakdown. The reports also offer you the ability to compare product purchases allowing you to target specific customers who have bought one type of product but not another giving vital information when considering marketing products, or targeting specific customers with new products that you might think they would be interested in.
